ASUU And FG News Today: The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced that the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement between ASUU and the federal government, which has been a major issue in disputes with the government, is progressing smoothly and has reached an advanced stage.
The lecturer union said the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) decision, which the government rejected, had been tested for the third time by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and would begin testing Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) in the following week.

Among other things, the statement said: “The renegotiations of the 2009 ASUU-FGN Agreement are progressing smoothly and have reached an advanced stage.
“However, we have to stay focused till the end of the struggle. UTAS (University Decision Transparency and Accountability) was tested for the third time. So far, NITDA (National Information Technology Development Agency) has tested UTAS and UPS and will start testing IPPIS next week.
“We are not concerned about the antics of some government officials in this regard.
“We were close to winning. Let’s keep believing in Unity. A united union can never be defeated.”
