Information about Economic Hardships Scholarships 2022

The Economic Hardship Scholarship is available to students who wish to pursue studies at a North American University, USA.

NAU is a college founded in April 2007 as the Texas Gulf Institute. The institute offers certificate programs within the first two years of its establishment. Following July 2010 approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to offer undergraduate degree programs, the school applied to change its name to North American College.

During the 2010-11 academic year, the college moved to a new administrative and education building at 3203 N. Sam Houston Pkwy West in Houston, Texas. In 2017, doctor Serif Ali Tekalan was appointed the university’s third president, replacing Recayi “Reg” Pecen, an engineer appointed in 2012.

In May 2013 the college was launched for the first time. Class of 2013 consisted of twelve students; nine have a bachelor’s degree in business administration and three have a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary education.

In the fall of 2013, NAC changed its name to University of North America (NAU). There are more than 800 students in ESL, undergraduate and graduate programs. Students come from more than 33 US states and more than 54 countries.

Eligibility criteria for the Economic Hardships Scholarship.

  • Applicants must re-apply every year to be considered for the scholarship.
  • Applicants must meet the academic requirements of the university-specific to the programme they wish to join.
  • Applicants must submit scores on the following English language proficiency tests:
